Most of these men look like they are over 40 and 50 years o!d. Just a curious observation. I am currently video journaling my brother who is 45 and still on meth, worked only 2 years his entire life, the system has him on SSI and he continues to use the money for drugs and has never met his grown son and now granddaughter. Socialism at its worst!

Around the main library on Guadaloupe & 8th st I have been noticing an
increased number of homeless, many of them sleeping on the sidewalks.
And this morning around 8am, just downstairs, San Antonio between
6th & 7th st,  I saw a food truck dispensing groceries to a long line of men,
the truck being an outreach of a local catholic parish.

And on the local TV news last nite there was a report on the recent influx
of homeless to Austin and efforts by the police and others to render help.

So I took pics of the truck and line of men which I attach.

Interestingly the ethnic makeup of the men was predominantly white
with a few blacks. This factoid may reflect the wave of heroin and
painkiller addiction sweeping the nation also being reported on the
news.
