Bob,

Great story, great times!

My roommate had a mindblowing walk across Central Park with Beckman
& Joe Elitz one time. They picked her up after her shift at the Figaro
coffee
house around 2 in the a.m.. they took the subway to 59th street later in
the
a.m. around 6 and started walking north across the park diagonally on the
way to West 96th street where she was subletting. they were walking her
home. They plied her with substances which induced euphoria and made
her feel a great contrast to the glum people on the subway on their way
to work.

i never met Beckman, although i went looking for him 1 summer in
Bolinas CA but didnt find him because he had already died of a heart
attack i was told.

i felt i knew him in a way, though, because he had sublet a little
toy house off Whitis on a side street to Fred Seabolt. Beckman
had decorated the house with found architectural items like
fluted iron Ionic columns - set up on the porch or maybe they
were on the balcony - the toy house had 2 storeys. - long since
torn down, alas.

Fred Seabolt who was off somewhere - in Japan maybe -
lent it to a subscriber to AGL who was a friend of mine -
and the rest was herstory.

i can say no more.

mike
