Donna,

to Skype, U need an uptodate computer.

Most folks have Dell or HP computers. Unfortunately
Dell & HP design them so you CANT upgrade the
motherboard and hardware nor change the operating
system. They want you to buy another computer.

And Skype is tricky even on up-to-date computers,
as it needs an extra piece of gear unless you have an
uptodate Mac. many uptodate laptops have builtin
webcam and mike.

and then now that i got it working, nobody of the few
who even have Skype will talk to me.

this is the notorious Groucho paradox who wouldnt join
a club that would have HIM as a member.
