[AGL] channelling Obama

Michele,
Speaking as an Obama voter, i found the notion of Obama
voters holding a private conversation with him in their head
tres funny, and psychologically insightful. The cartoonist
then varied this theme by having Obama have a private
conversation with himself in his head.
As for what to do, Obama (and the rest of us are screwed)
as we are already in Afghanistan. I knew and Obama knew and
multi gente likewise knew that Obama to get elected had to
embrace/accept one of our wars or not stand a chance in
hell of getting elected. And lest he lose a great deal of
support he could not do in Afghanistan what he probably
wants to do: exit gracefully and leave the Afghans to the
tender mercies of the Taliban who would promptly take
over.
Here's an interesting point which is being brought up.
The longer we are in Afghanistan, the more we will be
raising up home-grown jihadists in the Moslem population
of this country (total unknown; in the millions). The
Feds have been catching them but sooner or later one
of them will get lucky and do something monstrous on
the home ground. It turns out one cannot learn practically
how to do nasty stuff by downloading a manual from the
Internet. One has to have on-hands training, which is
done in al-qaida training camps in Pakistan.
VP Biden (and others) advise a swift departure from
Afghanistan in the hope that the Taliban will not permit
al-qaida to re-establish training camps in country. If they
do, we have drones and special forces which would
have to do special operations on those camps. And
of course there is the problem of Pakistan.
just my 2 cents
Mike

To Mike, also. "Tres funny"? Funny, I didn't even smile.
Tell me, if you have the time, what, EXACTLY, and HOW, EXACTLY, you
would make and take, the next step? I agree, its horrible beyond
measure. We could run away again, how many x, after promising we
would help the Kerds when they were bio-bombed; the up-rising,
resulting in a massive slaughter, hand over the helpless to the
Taliban, so they could rid another 7 yr old of her hand for playing
with a ball(?) Yes, I know its everywhere and we can't be. We could
stop with Darfur (i don't know how to spell that either) where the
multi-rapes are followed by blow-torching and full-term babies must
be eaten by their mothers; repeat?
Can you imagine that my guts aren't ripped out every time a soldier
falls—that I don't cry for hours for their loved ones and the life
each probably deserved? If not, then you don't know me. But, what
would I do and how would I handle it? I don't know. I guess I'm not
smart enough, not holy enough to make a decision from tons of info I
don't have. Well, I'm sorry, I really am sorry. I wish I could stop
it all and I'm angry about hidden agendas and greed—so very angry! I
just can't locate that easy answer w/o finding bags of complications,
hidden underneath.
Let's face it—you have a friend (that's 1 thing about me, when I say
you have a friend, it means loyalty in agreement and out)—who is too
stupid to solve the issues. Nope, I didn't find any humor at all,
sorry again. mm
