> Thanks. This sounds like a possible solution to a flooring problem I have,
maybe. I have an old concrete floor in the back with large cracks (it had
been a garage, and has no rebar atall) I have covered the bedroom floor with
carpet, and it looks okay - but carpet is a poor solution for a bathroom.
I'm going to run this by my roommate.
You have to put a plastic pad between the manufactured flooring
and the concrete. The concrete sucks up water and unless there
is a barrier between the concrete and the flooring, it will probably
buckle in a wet season. The manufacturer, Harmonics, sells such
a pad. Being 3 storeys up and with a pad and carpet between
the concrete and the flooring, I am omitting the pad. Costco
is having a $5 off per package in March. You have to be a
member of Costco or get a member to help you buy them.
