Pete Condoli, the older Condoli brother, has passed. He was the model for a successful LA musician in the latter 20th century. He was in some of the great big bands of all time, very powerful player. I recently obtained a DVD of a TV special from 1967 called: Sinatra, A Man and his Music. It is as close to perfection as this genre gets, Nelson Riddle orchestra with Pete Condoli among others, Sol Gubin on drums (masterful) and guest stars Ella Fitzgerald and Antonio Carlos Jobim. I bought it to see Jobim and Frank together. This appearance made Jobim, both in the US and in Brazil. He went from being a noted composer to being a super star. Obligado, Frank.
