Just ran into Ms Ivins at Bookpeople; she's down but not out (she's christmas shopping for godsake!). She is bald except for a fuzzy little mowhawk, which I am sure is deliberate. Pretty weak, had to lean against the elevator wall while we chatted and had a little difficulty talking/breathing. But I complimented her on her sweater, and she made curmudgeonly banter about too much christmas cheer (referring to elevator music I think). Seemed real glad to see me.
