Mike,
After such a horrific accident, seeking relief in any way possible is most understandable. I wouldn't presume to call it MS. I suppose having a cad for a husband could bring about all sorts of disfunctional ideation. Imagining her having sex with Trotsky the way you describe it reminds me of the groupie who finally managed to have sex with Mick Jagger. She reportedly told him afterwards, "Your good but you ain't no Mick Jagger."
Best,
Frances

In serious biographies of Frida it is often speculated
that she may have had Munchausen's syndrome, the
obsessive treatment of factitious disorders.

this wasnt in the movie (which i saw and enjoyed,
in which there was a reenactment of the trolley accident).

if she did have Munchausen's, that would be a good
reason not to choose her as a life-model.

if only she had left a diary describing what sex with
Leon Trotsky was like. imagine making love to the
revolution! imagine Leon having to live up to the myth!
