Hi, Ted,
  Did Helmer send you the article or what? I didn't understand the reference. Thanks for sending this article, and what a great picture. Who is that in the picture?
  I remember seeing a surveilance report sheet from that period found in a UT documents archive in '98 with a list of names of persons known to me, virtually all of whom were referred to as promiscuous and involved with drugs. Then, at the end, almost as a flourish, was "and the Young Democrats." Thus I could claim being on the list. I had gotten married and had a child by the time the anti-war movement was at it's peak so I didn't have much time for protest. I doubt that I was identified on any list personally, but I remember the times well.

  Here is the new Texas Observer (Nov 17, 2006) from Bill Helmer with articles about "The Ghetto" where we lived when we were first married during a truly interesting time in Austin history, sociologically and politically. I knew a lot of these people. Check it out.
  I'm not able to get the PDF files yet, even though I have Adobe Acrobat. The "Rt. 7" address for us on the atch. was the old lake house rural address in 1962, when we bought it.
