They're Burt Gerding's papers. He gave them to the Center under the condition they wouldn't be made public until after his death.

There is (or was a few years ago) a file of documents and photographs
residing in the Center for American History which had been inveigled
loose from either Gann or Gerding, I forget which of them, similar to
Hamilton's stuff. But the photos were different. I looked through the
box of photos. There were lots of them. From memory it seems like they
were mostly of surveilled political demonstrations and parades, but
some of the same cast of characters as those in the Hamilton photos.
It's been a while, and my memory is fuzzy. I suspect you'd have a hard
time getting access to these materials, because apparently they were
either given to UT with strings attached, or maybe there was a question
of the legality of UT's possession of them. I don't remember the details
now. It's be interesting to try to see them. I know they were there,
and probably still are.
