On PCs, it is the same. Firefox wont work, but Internet 
Explorer will. 

As for bank biz in the new Internet age, YMMV. 
Depends on how strong your nerves are.

As for the security of your password, in theory every
time you type it in, a key tracking program might be
secretly recording it. Assuming that your home computer
is being secretly plumbed without your knowledge. What
is your current conspiracy index?

As for doing bank biz on someone else's computer 
whilst you be on the road, a keyboard recording
of your password would have it, the password,
and your user name, so they could take all your funds
by making a payment to some other bank account.
