As I was saying, one woman told me that she personally knew of 40 people who had died prematurely due to being homeless. There is a secret tragedy playing out for the thousands of homeless people across the land and no attention at all is being paid to the problem by our fearless leaders, the elected officials. This is reprehensible.
  Best,
  Frances

I try to attend and buy a piece of art there every year. I can't wait to see the documentary. My grandson in Atlanta, Michael, asked many poignant questions about homeless people, which were everywhere. One woman

Last night I went to a viewing of "Art from the Streets", a documentary which follows the lives of five homeless Austin people who participate in an annual art show here at ARCH - Austin Resource Center for the Homeless. My stepdaughter Eya volunteers there. These people were brave beyond imagining; one woman showed her "camp' in the beginning of the film - midway through, vandals had come through and completely destroyed it. Another woman, Pat Bailey lived in her Buick; her work is quite good-I will probably buy a piece in the upcoming show. Prominently featured in the film is Christie Pate (aka Don Taylors girlfriend), who is the artistic director. I expected this film to be good because it has won all sorts of awards; I did not expect to be a weeping mess at the end of it. I was touched more than I can express.

Already got Dian to say she would buy the DVD's for the stores.
