Rory Stewart has written several editorials for the New York Times which are
worth reading.
"Places in between" is insightful, thanks for telling people they rad a bit of
it online. The chapters are short and are constructed a bit like fiction. I
enjoyed reading it. The diary I sent around is a an early work and to me it
shows the big difference between Iran and places like Afghanistan. I think
everyone will enjoy reading the Places in between which came out in May. I
think the publishers didn't expect it to be such a big hit. to me it shows how
desperate we are for some top notch insight in the mid-east and people have
latched on to Stewart. Iran has had more contact with the West. Rory has a
first class brain and has received a super education and is using it. I hope
that he doesn't end of a bit like Lawrence, I think he is too smart and has had
too much experience for that to happen.
It is good advice to not lug a mule around with you to unknown villages in
Iran.
Go to turguoisemountain.org which his latest project.
