FYI..."tonto" was played by jay silverheels (sp)...I MET HIM at the  
Spindletop Charity Horse Show in beaumont (boremont)...probably the first  tv/movie 
star i ever met...the discrimination, i believe is that he was always  dressed 
in his tv outfit when making public appearances...most native  americans 
met/meet with lots of bigotry so tonto felt honored to be on any  show...but in the 
50s...who knows?  sandy
