[AGL] Yesterday's border violence

Yesterday, in southern California, near San Ysidro, a man was killed by
"border agents/HLS/whatever?"

His crime...fleeing. We, the general public, may never know whether this
person was actually doing anything seriously illegal or not.
Regardless...he paid the "maximum penalty", he was killed on the spot. This
means that the border patrol is now cop/judge/executioner. In this case,
two officers shot.

Clearly our new policing policiy is "shoot first, ask questions later."
Now we know, that police can shoot to kill if they think you are fleeing.
Not to stop, delay, intimidate, disable....but to kill. Everyone now is
presumed "guilty" and can be "sentenced to death" by some moron who has,
with whatever training, had a Badge slapped on their chest. Hooray for the
American Way.

When this sort of stuff happened before...say around the Berlin
Wall...Americans were all disgusted at the use of lethal force by East
German or Russian border patrols. "What evil animals" we would croon.

But in the new Post-Reagan World, death by cop is perfectly ok. Sanctioned
by two-faced politicians and fear-mongerers of all persuasions. Will there
be any prayers said for this poor soul from the pulpits tomorrow in San
Diego county. I seriously doubt it.

How is this situation going to improve with the addition of 6,000...mostly
untrained...National Guards people...patrolling the borders?

Golly, I certainly feel a lot safer here in Virginia, knowing our Sacred
Shopping Malls/Multiplexesl/Manicured sub-divisions are being kept safe from
starving peasants.
