Marilyn,

I unsubscribed that address this morning but I hadn't yet
edited it out of the list which I sent.

The software behind austin-ghetto-list has become
very sophisticated. When an email address is actually
closed down, email to it bounces and the software
disables the address automatically and sends me a
message to that effect.

But in fact the world is full of email addresses where
email piles up and noone ever reads it. An electronic
scrap pile like rusty rebar lying around.

If Email to Clark's email address does not bounce,
the account still exists in some mail server. Before Clark
died his daughter or son-in-law used it at least once to give
us news of him in hospital. I don't know who is living in
Clark's house now. If mail to his address doesnt bounce, it
suggests that someone is still paying for it.
