Meanwhile, the GOP, always on the look out for African-American Athletes for political offices....regardless of lack of background in anything approaching an "intellectual activity"...has the hots for Lynn Swann, ex-USC and ex-Pittsburgh Steeler football player.  For Governator of Pennsylvania.  Swann joins the ranks of Uncle Toms who will do anything they can to promote themselves while conveniently ignoring the fact of GOP's past in fighting every single Civil Rights Action since the Civil War.

Well, once one becomes a "celebrity" and one feels that Great American Desire to Cash In, why worry about a few pesky relationships with racists, bigots, fascist cops, intellectual whores and the KKK?  Gotta get the GOP Bling!  Somebody from Yale will always be around to whisper facts and figures into your ears.

  For sending this. Knowing these things made tears whell up in my eyes. I love these American icons and had no idea of "Mr. Roger's" service in Nam. 
  However, being kind and gentle are not a bit "whimpy," that is just another misconception like Ahhnold's "girly" pejorative. The ability to have and express compassion and have empathy for others isn't in any way a negative characteristic, nor is having a feminine side. Women are no less important to civilization than men despite all the insipient, and insipid, put downs. 
  I couldn't agree more with the signature line.
  On the bright side check out the Blue attachment I got this morning from Ted Klein.
