Ghetto folk,

I'm still in Austin and have only glanced at my mail, but I want to say that the Memorial and Wake for Clark were handled exceptionally well -- with sensitivity and humor. There's certainly sadness -- and the lingering feeling that it didn't have to happen -- but that's all overshadowed by the picture of Clark with which we are left. A very special person, a genuine character, wild and wooly in his way, but a kind, sweet soul.....

It was wonderful to see old friends, some of whom I hadn't laid eyes on for going on 40 years. Mary Jane, Charlie Loving, Billy Jim, Baldauf, Houston, Wally Stofer.... on and on.

Clark was certainly lucky to have such a community of support. And the community, to turn, to have had Clark Santos as its patron.

and on we go,

Thorne
