  The following came this morning from Jack P.

  Fred was about my age, I think, but he only joined the spelunkers 
after he was in graduate school; so he did his caving with your 
generation; so he knew you and Carol Russell and Mike Row, etc.

  Maybe you have a better e-mail list for that era.   Most of the folks 
on Jacks list are from before my time and only met Fred at the two 
reunions we had (the one in 1994 and then last year at Hunt).

I just wanted to let you know that Fred Sawin, ex-spelunker ~ 1955, 
died from cancer last Tuesday, October 25. I do not know who his 
personal friends were so cannot anyone else direct. Since you both are 
retaining some directory records, I thought I would let you know.

Fred was Bill and my roommate at the last reunion in Kerrville.

I pray that all is well with all of you.
