Makes my point, as an Austin tax payer, I was being screwed. You should
have been a whistle-blower and saved many on this list from a tax
screwing. But we all know how the system works, you keep your mouth
shut, show up at party functions and protests, and take the little
government positions your carefully preened political contacts can
offer. Once again, All must go! as Wayne would say.

Well, Clark,
I for one don't have a tail...Billy Jim said I didn't, so there. The
second time I HAD to witness to something earthshattering while at work
was during the Clinton impeachment thang. I was lucky enough to be
working as a receptionist (talk about pretending to work--it was
totally about being there) and the office I worked in had cable. I got
to watch AND play the simucast sound track on PBS into the headset
without bothering any of the others, when they did show up. The
employer screwee was the city, so I certainly wasn't the only screwer
on the payroll.

BTW talk about pretending to work the guys I worked with would clock in
at 7:00 a.m. leave as soon as I got there to cover for them. They
would show up randomly a few times a day. I heard that they sometimes
drove to the nearby park and took naps in their cars. I wasn't playing
politics, I was satisfying my jones for news--at least I was THERE
unlike the rest of the staff who were free to roam about at will. When
there's nothing to do, there's nothing to do. There are a lotta jobs
out there like that.
