The American sheeple can apparently not discern the wild divergence of
interests of the nation and the corporations - religious/ideological
zealots at the controls in Washington. They are definitely not operating
in the best national interest and should rather be put on trial
Nuremberg-style for war crimes (not to mention treason).

And what ever happened to Congress' privilege to declare war? We aren't
talking about the 15-minute thermonuclear exchange time frame either.

Those swollen monsters are so out of touch (not to mention incompetent)
that it is pity (mixed with fear of their power to wreak catastrophe) we
might feel.

WMD? American-hating? Godless? Well how about a nice quick attack on
Moscow? Oh dear that's different: they can strike back. I suggest that the
Russian leadership is down on their knees thanking the Lord God in heaven
every night for their Strategic Rocket Force, tattered and rundown shape
that it is in. It's the only thing that keeps Bush & Co. from bullying
them like everybody else.

Amazing to me from afar to see in what a spectacular and swift fashion the
one surviving 'superpower' (whatever the fuck that is supposed to mean,
with all the real estate owned by Arabs) blowing it, morally,
intellectually, financially - even militarily.

I get this eerie recollection of Rome about 200AD - weak, silly, insane
emperors controlled by the Praetorians, a bloated, spoilt populace only
intent on their bread and circuses. Absolute arrogance and insensitivity
to what non-Romans thought of them.
Sound familiar?

What a sterling opportunity for shining leadership, for democratic
modeling, down the drain. But money talks (won't shut up).
