Jon - Lovely to hear from you. Don't remember ever riding a giraffe, in
or out of the Chuck Wagon. I used the nickname "Tina" when I first came
to Austin because people kept telling me my real name was too long.
After a while, I decided to make everyone call me by the name I had been
called all my life, Clementine (pronounced Clemen-Teen - in my family,
every first daughter for generations has been given the name Clementine,
either as a first name or as a middle name, including my own daughter,
Laura Clementine. My good friends can call me anything they want to
call me, but I still prefer Clementine. Incidentally, I'm still very
good friends with Tommy Hall - I consider him a part of my family, and
he was a wonderful stepfather to my two children.

Either then or now! Clementine was married to Tommy Hall and I used to
call her "Tina," but I think she must have rejected that nick-name at
