<P>Mike-- I'm glad you sent out the email from Jim. Although I had previously received it from you,I tried to interpret it for the guetto2 folk without quoting directly from it, and was met with a hail of hostility; Jim totally denied sending it, suggesting indirectly that you had made it all up. I still maintain that you were dissed in this case by Wayne and Gerry, but Wayne is a big-hearted guy, who can get mad at someone and still be a friend (except in my case, in which he totally wiped my out of his email world because of a comment I once made about how white celtic skin is most beautiful of all, whereas I mantain that the "beauty" of skin color is a subjective cultural concept). </P>

<DIV></DIV>>It was personal but he posted it both to me and

<DIV></DIV>>it was so creepy I was ashamed to.

<DIV></DIV>>That was a mistake it seems. Here's his email

<DIV></DIV>> what a pathetic, whiney little schnorra weasel you

<DIV></DIV>>STOP HERE

<DIV></DIV>>I shouldnt have showed to Madelon as it upset her.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>What set him off I don't know. I said that Theodorakis
<DIV></DIV>>and Jim Strong and others are full of it. The expression
<DIV></DIV>>"full of it" seems so anodyne so what set him off?
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>Pepi, I want you to know that I take pills for my male
<DIV></DIV>>menopause and the tests show that it is under control.
<DIV></DIV>>The figures are in range and that's science. Unlike
<DIV></DIV>>FHR (female hormone replacement) medication ours
<DIV></DIV>>is distilled from horny stallion pee.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>Pepi also said
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>> > You are developing paranoid conceptualizations,
<DIV></DIV>> > as ever, as you enumerate at length friends and
<DIV></DIV>> > acquaintances in consideration of their possible
<DIV></DIV>> > view of you.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>At length? This is so unfair. Jon Ford mistakenly
<DIV></DIV>>identified Wayne Johnson (40 year friendship)
<DIV></DIV>>and Gerry Storm as having dissed me on
<DIV></DIV>>JSDGMLG2.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>I wrote merely to disabuse him of an error. Jon
<DIV></DIV>>has never even MET Wayne. Gerry I know from
<DIV></DIV>>the Raw Deal. Jon Ford spoke ONLY of Wayne
<DIV></DIV>>and Gerry.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>I shoulda stopped there. But at the keyboard a
<DIV></DIV>>counterbalancing contrast seemed to be needed.
<DIV></DIV>>So I named JS, Simmons, Ted Samsel and
<DIV></DIV>>Fontaine also as folks who really REALLY dont like
<DIV></DIV>>me. Pepi, that aint paranoid conceptualizations,
<DIV></DIV>>that's simply the way it is. It's only 4 people, it's
<DIV></DIV>>not a big deal. Sorry it's such a problem for you.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>Afterwards Wayne confirmed my claim of friendship.
<DIV></DIV>>And Gerry publicly giggled at Wayne's revelation of the
<DIV></DIV>>LEGUME conspiracy against me.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>You're right about email being an imperfect medium.
<DIV></DIV>>I have always thought that the charm of OUR maillist
<DIV></DIV>>was that we knew each other in real life and saw
<DIV></DIV>>one another at parties. So when reading Karen or
<DIV></DIV>>Connie or other folks that we actually know in real life,
<DIV></DIV>>it always strikes me how lifelike their emails are,
<DIV></DIV>>you can almost hearing them speaking, it is SO them.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>As compared to folks one knows ONLY through
<DIV></DIV>>email.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>I think the problem with my letters is that the
<DIV></DIV>>charm of full self-expression is too tempting for
<DIV></DIV>>me. My self-expression IS different from the
<DIV></DIV>>usual Texan sensibility, I know that. But my view
<DIV></DIV>>is that if I find myself living among folks with a
<DIV></DIV>>more buttoned-up sensibility, the last thing I
<DIV></DIV>>would do in my whole life would be to adopt it.
<DIV></DIV>>Alas, this decision does not easily make me
<DIV></DIV>>friends nor do I have any ambition to run for
<DIV></DIV>>elected office.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>It's like Jack Nicholson at the end of the Sean
<DIV></DIV>>Penn directed movie The Pledge where
<DIV></DIV>>Nicholson is sitting on the porch of his lakeside
<DIV></DIV>>house drinking a beer and arguing with himself
<DIV></DIV>>with gestures. Or is it?
