Yeah, you need to get your 40 quarters in. You should
write Social Security and they will send you a printout
of your contributions over the years and how many 
quarters you have.

Since quarters only require $400 of income, you might
arrange somehow to pay US income tax on $1600 a
year income plus self employement Social Security
tax while staying in Indonesia and make up your 40
quarters. First check and see how many quarters you
already have.
