 Michael,
The use of the word "cooked" to discredit a study seems facile when evidence surfaces about the results of a real situation of how people act when they are in charge of real prisoners. The fact that the researchers discontinued the study because the treatment was harming the subjects has similarities to the harmone replacement therapy study that was discontinued because it was not fair to test subject taking the placebo. When I compared the two discontinued studies you took off on the tack that the abuse experiment was flawed. Flawed or not, the overwhellming evidence is that humans are capable of outrageous treatment of other humans, whether in the controlled test or the real life situation. Researchers who are trying to manufacture results don't usually do it by calling off the study because of potential damage to test subjects. So wherein lies the flaw?
Frances

Just want to make sure that everyone knows the origins of the digital camera pictures taken in the Iraq prison. This guy is one splendid American soldier.

Many people, including medics, dog handlers and military
intelligence soldiers, saw or heard of abuse of prisoners
at Abu Ghraib, but did not come forward.
