Your CD player "might" be fixed by acquring a disk cleaner from your =
local Radio Shack. Otherwise, best look in Best Buys or Target or local =
Sear for something which is being discontinued or on sale. CDs can be =
notoriously fickle. I must have three radio/CD/tape players these days =
of which one works with any regularity. Avoid Sony.

Oh, no, in fact I was thinking along those same lines. The problem is =
my CD player has fritzed on me. It only plays for a few seconds and then =
cuts out. Makes no sense at all, and Mr. Fixit is no longer in business =
