that Internet thing is a good thing...not a fad 
as Whoopi Goldberg claimed in a rerun of her 
funny TV program last night

that TV thing is useful too sometimes

Whoopi's new series features Hassim a maintenance guy at
Whoopi's mid-town hotel which she owns. He is Iranian
and he does the loveable horny ethnic schtick which he 
does superbly. There is also a foul mouthed Eastern European
housemaid.

There is Whoopi's neer-do-well pompous lawyer brother 
who lives free at the hotel. he has a tall blond bimbo
girlfriend who talks pure black.

there have been only about 5 episodes which are 
rerun unpredictably. the slot is 7:30pm TUESDAYS
on NBC but it is often preempted for crapola of
one sort or another

Whoopi's persona here is to be a lapsed rehab 
borderline alcoholic who is not NOT N*O*T interested
in getting laid and is unpredictably meanspirited.

this series is on a par with the best Rosanne.

some dont like Rosanne, some pretend to have never
heard of Rosanne

she did 2 episodes of a series last fall the story 
line being what TV sort of thing would Rosanne do 
now after having been "Rosanne" after which it 
disappeared into TV oblivion 

Hassim may not be John Goodman but you don't need
to be John Goodman to do good schtick. or is John
Goodman nothing but schtick?

anybody out there ever seen that Ellen Barkin Al
Pacino John Goodman flic Sea of Dreams? 

are movies MORE something than TV and the Internet?
