Hi Mike,
I heard that you were down with the flu as the reason for not showing at Lorelei's party. Hope you are just about well by now, and I've been thinking about you and Madelon. Missed you at the party, which was a good one. There were lot's of people there that I dint know, as they were LB's neighbors, some tenants, and Buddhists (lots of young people). Ghettoites included, Me, Randy and Frances, Dian and Houston, Pat Brown and SO, Kathy Doyle, Wali, Pepi, Packy, Fred Seabolt, Karen Willis, Jim Barry, Joe Ben, Luke, Scout and Cass, I know I'm forgettin several people. Great party with a band playing dancing music ('the Conundrums'). food, and a fine campfire glowing outside.
Please let me know how you are doing, and how Madelon's gallery opening went.
Below is my recent post to G2 list on new energy bill to share.
-------------------
11/18. Finally out of the House and Senate conferee. From this morning's paper, Business Section:
"The conferees rejected dozens of amendments, most of them brought by Democrats, as they left the Republican-crafted bill - the product of weeks of closed-door negotiations - largely intact."
to wit:
"Among the bill's major provisions:
Tax incentives totaling $14.5 billion for oil, natural gas and coal industries.
More than $5.2 billion in tax credits and other tax benefits over 10 years for developing renewable energy sources, including tax breaks for corn-based ethanol.
Provisions to speed up permits and ease environmental rules to development of oi and gas resources on federal land."
...and so on.
Unbelievable, but no surprise.
Connie
