     My name is Aaron Arnold, and many of you know me as "Smokey,"
Maryann and
     Tary's handler.

     It's with heavy sorrow that I must inform you all of Tary's
condition. As
     you probably already know, he's been battling throat cancer since
November,
     and it now seems to be terminal. He is at M. D. Anderson, getting
the best
     care possible. After not gaining necessary weight for chemotherapy,
they
     had tried tube feeding him, and it was not successful. They were
going to
     adjust his diet, and now it appears he has pneumonia.

     Maryann is dealing with it the best she can, and while she knows
you all
     send your best regards, please do not call her at home, as her
phone is
     already ringing too much. You may call Tary in his hospital room,
and he
     may or may not be able to take your call. 713-563-9005. What she
did
     suggest, just to let him know that you're thinking about him and
all, is to
     send a card.
