a gorgeous daytrip to San Antonio

Mike-- sounds like you had a great old time! The only time I take mass
transit is when I'm in New York where I become a fanatical subway rider,
eagerly plotting out the shortest routes and marvelling at the strange
characters that lurk there as well as the friendly New Yorkers always ready
to help you along. Around here, I always take my car except once when I had
to get from Palo Alto to El Cerrito by Cal Train and BART to pick up my
daughter's car for her. A frightening experience indeed but I survived
despite losing $10 in the ticket machine in San Francisco, the "not so
friendly" city.
