Yes Jon, et al,
Isn't it a bit odd that the government is ignoring the 30,000,000 =
Americans living in or at the edge of poverty, and God knows how many =
more who are underemployed and barely scraping by, yet, we are on the =
record pledging upwards of $75,000,000,000 to the 26,000,000 Iraqis =
whose cities we just spent up to $50,000,000,000 destroying. Is this the =
heir to supply side economics?
Somebody help me, I want to go back to 1968 or even 1988, or even 2000.
BTW, I am a former union activist and officer, sat on the labor council =
for a time, life member (still have the badge), and a firm believer in =
most all things union. It's the only way to obtain a bargaining position =
with the rich without class warfare and, trite as it may sound, the best =
way for the working man and woman to acquire a little dignity. Our =
corporations have ditched the American worker and moved abroad to =
exploit the un-unionized. That's one of the major tradgedies of our =
recent history. I don't see how we can feel secure knowing that most of =
the necessities of our lives (but not the weapons) are manufactured in =
China.
