Driving home yesterday I heard a long interview of Joan Baez on
commercial radio (KGSR). Thirty minutes plus without a commercial!
Joan sang some live stuff and holy shit at 62 or whatever she is
singing with more soul and nuance than ever! She sang Steve Earle's
"Christmas in Washington" which gave me a severe case of chicken skin.
And the dialogue. Here was the Program Director of a commercial
station expressing lengthy and unabashed antiwar sentiment. And
allowed Joan to say that Dubyuh ain't smart enough to be Hitler. She
sang a little spontaneous ditty something like this:
Hey, hey, giddyup, giddyup
A village in Texas is missing its idiot.
they got the guns but we got the numbers.
