Michael- Thanks! Yes, I did get this and it got lost in the shuffle. To Joe
Rowe, thanks too! Actually, I too have shared some of this Mike Ruppert
(From The Wilderness) material with the Ghetto list. It has been pretty well
received, I think, by a group that does not confuse patriotism with support
for Bush & Company. I applaud intelligent conspiracy theorists and consider
myself to be an informed conspiracy observor. One need not be paranoid to
believe that Junior and Poppy and Uncle Dick and Uncle John Ashcroft and
their corporate masters have conspired to do their worst. I do part company,
however, with those who believe the suicide pilots of 9-11 were CIA
mind-control subjects triggered into action by electromagnet pulses from the
West Wing. It is much more likely that the EMPs emanated from Arlington, Va.
(Just kidding, Joe.) The following is my take, based on fact, with the
exception of some fanciful imaginings of Putin and Junior at the Crawford,
Texas rainch ... part of which I borrowed from the inimitable Wayne Johnson.



SEPTEMBER 11th AND AFTERMATH

For those who don't quite believe the party line regarding September 1l, but
who wonder how it could be otherwise, who question what the upside/downside
could be for whom, please consider.

We sometimes miss the simplest points. We're dealing with corrupt
politicians. Their only goal is survival. The "upside" gained from 9-11 is
the cover needed to get re-elected. This trumps any "downside" that was not
already on the horizon. Junior & Company had already overplayed their hand.
"Compassionate Conservatism" was history. And with the unseemly and
non-mandated swerve to the right, the economy began tanking, oil crash info
began leaking into the popular press, and big tax cuts, missile defense,
ANWR drilling, loot and plunder globalization, faith-based privatization
(remember that one!) as well as many other crony-driven schemes began
running into problems. On top of all this, media consortiums (damn them!)
began smelling blood and recounting votes down in Florida. Barring some kind
of a miracle, Junior would never get re-elected.

So Bush & Company (according to several intelligence sources) knew that
"something" was brewing in early September and figured (nay welcomed!) the
prospect of, say, a car bomb on Wall Street (or even worse) as just the
"miracle emergency" they would need to move ahead. When they got much, much
more than they had bargained for, they figured they had total immunity and
could move ahead much more quickly and broadly than they had ever dreamed
possible. Bush actually said, "I hit the tri-fecta," after telling his
budget director before 9-11 that nothing short of war, national emergency or
recession could resolve his problems. The tri-fecta! What a break! Sky's the
limit! Overt and covert military action abroad, and overt and covert
population and message control on the homefront! Good God man, we're at war!
State of National Emergency! The American Patriot Act! The Economic Stimulus
Act! Corporate bailouts, more tax cuts, drill where you will, defense
contractor's heaven and a shocked and grieving population (gotta love 'em)
that would excuse almost anything ... and attribute almost everything ... to
brave leaders wrestling with the challenges of war. What craven or crafty
politician, or corporate media outlet, would dare disrupt the drum beat? Who
would not join in?

But again, the Bushkies overplay their hand. And as more and more people
come out from under the ether, more and more of the "facts" just don't add
up. Why was it, again, that fighter jets weren't scrambled? What's this
about the CIA and the Bushes and the bin Ladens doing business? Why was it
that Mayor Guiliani cut back on all the furious digging and heroic
firefighting as soon as the $200 million in gold bullion was recovered from
the WTC wreckage? Why are we paying heroin-smuggling war lords to fight the
guys we had just paid to stop the heroin smuggling? Why are we giving
billions of dollars to corporations instead of to families that are out of
work thru no fault of their own? Why had Vladimir Putin's famous KGB Stare
suddenly become a twinkly-eyed smile as he embraced his new friend at the
Crawford, Texas ranch? What a comfort zone! President Junior, the son of a
president and a former secret police chief, with his arm around the
president and former secret police chief of Russia. Look at Putin smile as
he takes the ten-gallon hat. Such a nice smile, such quick eyes, taking in
everything, everything. See, President Bush has won over President Putin!
Why should Americans not trust?

Some us here in Texas know Bush & Company well. Some of us have crossed
swords with the likes of George W. and Karl Rove and Karen Hughes and Joe
Albaugh. O yes, Joe Albaugh! He was Dubya's campaign manager against the
totally compromised Ann Richards. He was then Governor Bush's chief of
staff. And then, he was the nuts and bolts campaign manager for the
presidential campaign. Joe and James Baker managed the Florida putsch. Joe
was then appointed with no opposition and little media attention to be the
new head of FEMA. (The position is usually reserved for a career bureaucrat
or a big donor, not a political operative.) But soon after the appointment,
and well before 9-11, FEMA was granted broad new powers and budget to combat
domestic terrorism. Albaugh arrived in New York City on Sept.-10.

I applaud our many detached and intelligent conspiracy theorists. I consider
myself to be an informed conspiracy observer. And I have probably ranted far
too long for an open list post. One need not be paranoid to believe that
Junior and Poppy and Uncle Dick and Uncle John Ashcroft are conspiring with
their corporate masters to do their worst. Consider how this bunch has
handled- or mishandled- power in the past. Consider history and ask not who
will benefit, but who believe they will benefit ... if only their ignorance
and arrogance would not lead them, once again ... to overplay their hand. I
can imagine Putin at the Texas ranch, after strategic negotiations, thinking
about Dubya: "Our psychologists are correct. The American is a fool. Perhaps
I will take KGB advice and meet up with him late tonight in the kitchen.
Perhaps I will let my new compassionate compadre 'teach' me the card game of
his state, Texas Hold Them Pokers. Manos a manos! No limit!"
