OK help me out here... I am looking into these action figures...I have
found a modeller who can sculpt the prototypes and make the molds...but
before we go any further...we really need to examine what is worthy of an
investment...can we sell these puppies? This sculptor ain't cheap.
Now I read the other day that the Osama Bin Laden urinal cakes were (ahem)
stacking up in the warehouse. So maybe the bloom is off the rose on the
Osama cakes, but does the "Osama market" still have legs is the question.
Would an Osama action figure sell worldwide...kinda like the Fidel/Che tee
shirt thing from the 70's that endures today.
I was envisioning also a Saddam Hussein a/f in that famous pose of his
firing pistol in the air with his cute little black beret on. Of course I
wanted to make his belly a bit saggier and perhaps have his shirtail out.
Do you think a Ken Lay and Geo Bush duo doll with Ken passing $ to George
has a chance or is the market too esoteric?
Some of the other a/f figures and mini-dioramas I have been thinking about
include:
The Monica and Bill dolls. Bill has his pants down and M's face is hidden
in his nether parts. Bill is on the phone, and M has Bill's scotch drink
resting on the top of her head.
The JFK and Marilyn dolls. In flagrante delicto with JFK watching TV while
Marilyn performs.
The JFK motorcade with Jackie trying to take her fast exit off the trunk of
the limo. Roses scattered, her little pink dress stained...
Nixon with his hand on the red button of the small Wollensak tape recorder.
Would a Mickey Mouse crucified on a Dollar sign be too obvious or
didactic? (I am thinking yes, but gosh Goofy, I think it would sell.)
++++++++++++
So this is the direction my idle thoughts are drifting this AM...
Is this a pony we can ride? Will this dog hunt? Is the world/America ready
for Ghettoware products? From the Ghetto Thinktank Research Group, the ALL
NEW
Hall of Shame Action Figures!
I was also thinking of the Great Villains series. You know.
Rasputin
Pontius Pilate
Stalin
Lenin
Mao
John Wilkes Booth
Jeffrey Dahmer
J. Edgar Hoover and Clyde Tolson
etc...
Ideas anyone?
