I find Mike's response to Roger rather extreme; sounds a bit like "shooting 
the messanger." All Roger did was pass on the article-- he wasn't advocating 
any particular position, nor is the article itself, which is a personal 
reportage of observations of discontent and joy at seeing the US get 
"theirs" for once.Some of this is just a natural response from the little 
guy who likes to see the big guy get hurt for once--and the US has hurt the 
Muslim world in many of its policies and decisions.A real survey of opinion 
in the Muslim world on the subject of Israel and Palestine would probably 
yield enormous percentages of anti-Israel sentiment, and a feeling that Bin 
Laden is a kind of comic-book style mythical hero, kind of like Mighty 
Mouse, in contrast to the widely hated US "Superman". That doesn't mean we 
have to let our foreign policy be based on surveys of Muslim discontent with 
us; after all, we have our "vital interests" to protect over there! But why 
should they love us, and why should they love Israel, which they perceive 
(rightly or wrongly) as a stalking horse for US power in the Middle East? If 
the US cut off all weapon sales for Israel(billions a year, as I recall from 
past figures), it would be interesting to see what would happen to that 
proud and resourceful state. Of course, I wouldn't advocate that 
personally-- but it's an interesting thought.
