Ok, here is my pitch to unseat Roger as the Ghetto's greatest pessimist. =
It's all a fantasy of what could go wrong in the worst way, but as we =
know shit happens and if things can go wrong they often will at the =
worst time. Not much attention has been paid to the downside of this =
war as we all think of ourselves as the invincible superpower and that =
we are in control of everything, so in order to sober up a little I will =
though out this little essay of pessimism. Hopefully, I will be =
receiving a ton of e-mail condemning me as an idiot in which case I =
won't speak to any of you again and will just confine myself to =
expressing my concerns to my cats whom seem receptive to my ideas.

The Bush Oil Wars II
The US Army invades Afghanistan to hunt down Bin Laden but the Taleban =
puts up stiff resistance forcing Washington to send more troops to =
Afghanistan and begin wide spread bombing of civilian targets. Moslem =
protest increase throughout the Mid-East. The Pakistan army revolts and =
overthrows the Pakistan government and begins attacks against US troops =
and the long supply line into Afghanistan. The US Army races to =
takeover the Pakistan nuclear facilities and after a pitched battle of a =
few days manages to take it but discover that several nuclear devices =
are missing from the inventory. The US is now at war with Afghanistan =
and Pakistan. Bush orders the draft to be reinstated and 100,000 boys =
are called into the Army.

Renegade terrorist cells in Iran launch missile attacks against US war =
ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Bush thinking that Iran is responsible =
for the attacks bomb selected targets in Iran - Iran enters the war. =
Iran manages to sink several oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and =
cuts the oil supply line to the West. Due to the lack of oil a economic =
depression begins. 200,000 more American boys are drafted into the =
Army.

Sadam seeing that Bush is tied up in the Mid-East decides to enter the =
war by attacking Israel with his missiles. Israel enters the war. =
Protest and disorder in Egypt and Saudi Arabia reach the level of civil =
war. The rebels in Saudi Arabia overthrow the government and destroy =
the oil shipping facilities making any oil transport impossible. Syria =
sees this is the time to try and retake the Golan Heights in Israel and =
enters the war. 500,000 more American boys are drafted onto the Army. =
Protest inside the US gets more serious and Bush declares marshal law =
and suspends elections.

Meanwhile, China is becoming increasingly nervous about the US troop =
buildup on its back door (Afghanistan and Pakistan share a border with =
China). They have been supplying weapons to the Mid-East for years. =
China, seeing that the American military is fully occupied in the =
Mid-East decides to retake Taiwan. Bush is unable to enter the war over =
Taiwan but does institute an boycott on the importation of any Chinese =
products which results in an economic collapse in China. The many =
unemployed and other dissatisfied groups in China begin protest =
activities and the Chinese government responds with a crackdown that =
makes the Tiananmen crack down of 1989 look like a tea party. China =
introduces an new breed of portable, high altitude SAM missiles into the =
Mid-East war and several B52s are brought down while on carpet bombing =
raids over Mid-East cities. 500,000 more American boys are drafted onto =
the Army.

One of the missing Pakistani A-bombs takes out an American coastal city =
(maybe Houston as the bomb is hidden in an oil tanker).

A paranoid fantasy? Yes, but all in the realm of the possible.

BTW - no matter what you might hear, we are not at war with Muslim =
peoples - we are at war with Islamic countries!!??

A note about China (not a fantasy but fact): China has its own problems =
with Muslim fundamentalists. Xinjiang ( the most northwest province and =
bordering Pakistan, Afghanistan and the other 'stans ) has a Muslim =
majority and rebel groups here have been having skirmishes with Chinese =
troops for years. Of the over 2500 bombing incidents in China last year =
perhaps half of them have been in Xinjiang province. China has been =
selling arms to the Mid-East for a long time, they are thought to have =
supplied Pakistan with missile technology and nuclear technology. =
Currently they are giving aid to the Taliban in the form of =
infrastructure and economic aid projects. China's approach to Islamic =
fundamentalism has been to use a stick at home and a carrot abroad.
