i assure you that the firefighters i spoke to yesterday, one w/tears in his 
eyes from reading a newspaper, the other so wired on adreneline i feared his 
frying before my eyes, are real. they are our warriors right now. it breaks 
my heart. will go copy the cry that the latter one left on the message board 
in front of the firehouse. the second, who i spent some time w/, hasn't been 
home since 9.11.
