Of course not. I assume are at war with Afghan because we think bin 
Laden attacked the WTC, although nobody can be sure because the 
evidence is secret. Clinton gave orders to kill bin Laden during his 
term, but now we have expanded our goal to setting up a friendly puppet 
government by militarily toppling the Teliban, which may be possible,
and then turning the resulting mess over to the UN -- to do the 
impossible -- to defend the resulting government while keeping it 
friendly to both Pakistan and the USA in perpetuity.

Building a pipeline across Afghanistan would be idiotic because of 
sabotage, assuming the region could produce enough oil to make a big 
difference for the USA, which it could not.
