Last night went I to the reunion of (damn near) everybody who ever went
out to Soap Creek Saloon - bout eight hundred people. Saw Jaxon holding
court, Sandy, Bob Vennell, Dave Moriaty, George and Carlyne.
Greezy Wheels was marvelous; Sweet Mary Hattersly played a kickass
fiddle and Lissa's still got some fine pipes . Alvin Crow broke into a
beautiful, lively and loud version of "Star Spangled Banner" - got the
whole crowd on their feet and
singing along with hands on hearts. Little Shawn Sahm did a set of
Daddy's
songs with Daddy's old band; I especially loved "She's about a mover".
The kid ROCKED!
My thanks to George (Cutbain) Majewski for putting together an
unforgettable evening that made me forget about everything else for a
few hours.
