I think the way Travis does it is by having his exaggeration knob turned up all
the way through long practice so that in order to compensate you have to view the
things he says through the wrong end of the telescope, so to speak, to restore
them to their proper dimensions.
Much harder is to never be yourself; some have managed to con their shrink into
thinking that their mind is inhabited by dozens of distinct personalities, but
it drives you crazy to do that for very long at any given time.
