Howdy folks
in an attempt to send out some good news and some good vibes, here's a
coupla events that ought to involve both..

From Valencia, Spain, amazing tenor saxaphonist and jazz composer Javier
Vercher will play his only solo performance in America Tuesday Nov.20
Elephant Room (4th or so & congress)9:30-1:30 with Brannen Temple and a few
of Austin's finest young jazz musicians. Javier's been playing with Brannen
a few times laately , and has played with Paat Metheny in Spain where he has
his own band which includes Bob Moses and some other great players. Besides
being an amazing performer & composer, he's my fiance's daughter's boyfriend
and a wonderful cat, who's only here briefly and i'd sure like to fill that
room with friendly faces, so come on down if you can....its right underneath
Kyoto tween 3rd & 4th. and spread the word if ya know any real jazz
fanatics.

thanx

and then i got this from Kerry Awn:

Remember Mincemeat Mercer from Ramon Ramon & the 4 Daddyo's? He was one of
the Ramons along with Ted Nicolau. Did you ever hear any of his comedy tapes
that JFKLN always was raving about?

Anyway, I've compiled some of his prank phone calls that he's made over the
years and put out a CD. It's going in Waterloo records and MINCEMEAT his own
self will be having a CD release party at the Velveeta Room on Saturday,
Nov. 24th from 9-12 pm.

Could you release this information onto your list of movers and shakers?
I'm sure a lot of old Austin hippies remember Mincemeat and would love to
see him again.

The media has been alerted and there will be some coverage of his rare
public appearance coming out next Thursday in AAS and Chronicle.

Thanks,
Kerry
