errors compiling on Mac OS 10.9.1

So Chas,
What version are you using?
You're error relates to ncurses.  Does your ./configure find ncurses ???
In your ./include/argus_config.h, what are the values for the various curses variables ??

   % fgrep -i curses ./include/*.h
