Hey Stephane and Robin,
Yes, I'm finishing ratop() even now as I type.  By adding readline() edit support, and searching, the interface had to change a bit.  I did mention briefly that it was changing, but I should have gone into a bit of detail.

I will try to put a man page together soon.  I'm trying to get enough support into the new ratop() so that the "vi" man page will actually be a decent starting point.

All of this was motivated by the need to set about a dozen variables, and we basically ran out of characters with the single character hotkey approach that we had been using......, so I borrowed "vi" command strategy.  

So you will need to type ":" or "/" to do anything other than navigate the screen.
The "/" search does support regular exprssions, so that is a big plus.  Still need to do highlighting of matches, but that's coming.

I know its "too little too late" but give me a few more days. :o)!!!

 have you tried the vi command to quit ?
 
 There was a change in the ratop interface not long ago, 
 but nothing on the screen tells you what to type, once it is started.
 
 So try this:
     :q
 
 If Carter is reading, could I suggest this banner in ratop for a next release ?

 I don't know if anybody else has noticed it, but when running ratop  you can exit normally. (with q) 
 I have to re-login and kill (SEGV(!!)) the running command. 
 
 I'm running FreeBSD 6.2 with the latest Argus releases. (downloaded  this morning) 
 
 Any idea?
