Latest clients look to have broken archive file movement

OK, I have switched to rc.45, but things still look to be broken.
The argus is on a 64bit IBM G5 box writing to sockets and that seems to be
working OK.
There are currently two client sets running (and both break):
FreeBSD 6.2 on a 600 meg P3 32 bit Intel
vanepp 4404 4.7 0.5 5164 3656 p1 S 10:37AM 0:00.68 /usr/local/bin/ra3 -S 192.75.244.191:560 -n -D1 -w /var/log/argus/com_argus
vanepp 4405 0.0 0.5 5164 3656 p1 R 10:37AM 0:00.17 /usr/local/bin/ra3 -S 192.75.244.191:561 -n -D1 -w /var/log/argus/c4_argus
with debug info going to a file. Attempting to kill an ra3 process
with kill -HUP or kill doesn't work, I have to use kill -9:
ps auxwwww | grep ra3
vanepp 4376 0.0 0.5 5164 3512 p1 S 10:33AM 0:01.14 /usr/local/bin/ra3 -S 192.75.244.191:561 -n -D1 -w /var/log/argus/c4_argus

and a Mac G5 PPC (64 bit) quad core running Mac OS 10.4
I'm just about to start the same thing on the Mac and I guess when we
next see a failure perhaps the debug logs will say something. There doesn't
appear to be anything in syslog from argus in either machine after a failure.
The Mac has the same problem with killing an ra task.
