Argus data archive

Gentle people,
    One of the biggest properties of Argus is its persistent
data.  Building tools that help to managing this persistent
data is very high on my list of things to do in the next few
months.  As a part of this, I am going to write a Perl CPAN
package that sets up and manages an Argus Archive/Database.

    I would really like to get some feedback on what you guys
would want in an archive/database.  Issues such as SQL support,
automatic hashing/indexing, security, and off line storage
strategies are all fair game.

    My goal is to provide a system that will allow very fast
lookups based on IP CIDR address, so that people can get
fast answers to "did this IP address come by here?" queries.

    Opinions?  Suggestions?  Comments?
