A daemon mode oddity?

Hey Peter,
   So with the -d we do a chdir to /, like most daemons do,
so that you don't get problems with umounting filesystems
with argus running.

   Now we do that of course before we open anything, so
this is doing what its designed to do, but probably not
what we want it to do?

   Opinions?
