It gets worse I'm afraid.

Current A versions can't find "features.h" included from cdefs.h so I 
grabbed one from one of my linux boxes (I'm not at all sure it is 
appropriate) and put it in include/linux-include. Now I get:

../include/linux-include/features.h:277: gnu/stubs.h: No such file or 
directory

from configure.

We seem to be stuck in some linux specific configuration issues which 
need to be handled explicity in configure.

I have tried various things like commenting out subsequent includes but 
then other things break....

It would seem that there are very fundamental differences between the 
basic include file structures on linux and other systems. Sigh...


I have also used find to try and locate BSD versions of these files but 
no luck.
