problems parsing filter in 'latest' 1.8 release

Hi,
	I have just moved the latest verson of argus onto my 
production system and discovered that ra baulks at any filter with 
parentheses in it with a 'parse error'.  This is the version that is up 
on the ftp site. 

argus-1.8/bin/ra -r argus-2000.03.19.00.00.gz    \( tcp \)
ra: expression: parse error

I have a version from November that is fine in this respect.

I have tried this on both debian and rh linux with the same results.
