Date issues

Hey Kevin,
The man page specifies the two digit year
format for the date, so I'm not sure that there
is a problem. Since there is no Y2K issue on
Unix time (which is # seconds since 1/1/70),
at least not until 2078 (or is that 2074).

Would you prefer that 4 digit years be
supported?

Carter

Subject: Date issues

All-

I'm noticing date issues with raservices/argus. I'm not sure where the
issues exist since I haven't really traced them through the code yet...
I'm wondering if the issues have already been solved or need to be
addressed. As other clients (ie dnstats) exhibit similar behavior, I'm
guessing it isn't specific to raservices, rather to the template/client
shell or argus itself.

This example demonstrates the problem. 'bytecount' is basically
raservices except that it doesn't report individual service data and
just supplies a total byte count for the specified period.

[1:00 51 syllable:ng/argus]$ bytecount -r lister.log.19990311 -c -n -t
03/11/1999.00:00-03/11/1999.23:59

No connections seen
[1:04 52 syllable:ng/argus]$ bytecount -r lister.log.19990311 -c -n -t
03/11/99.00:00-03/11/99.23:59

bytecount -r lister.log.19990311 -c -n -t 03/11/99.00:00-03/11/99.23:59
Total Cons 3277 2634587 89608679

-------
Thanks,
Kevin
