Yes, change happens, but no, I wonât just get over it.
**** Measure Twice, Cut Once <http://daringfireball.net/2011/05/measure_twice>
John Gruber, Daring Fireball
Appleâs policy is to respond to a crisis with certainty, or at least as much certainty as can be mustered. Certainty takes time. No drip, drip, drip of vapid PR statements. Just silence, then an answer. Seems to be working out pretty well for them.

Hype is an HTML5 Animation Builder for Mac OS X. It allows you to build interactive sites in HTML5 that rivals Flash. Hype launched last Friday and they are already the top grossing app on the mac app store.

While Lodsys has not yet issued its own response, many developers are now breathing a sigh of relief based on Apple's stance, which states that developers are fully protected against any extra fees by the company's patent licensing terms.

**** Regarding Objective-C & Copland 2010 <http://kickingbear.com/blog/archives/168>
Guy English, Kickingbear
So, in the end, while I appreciate the thinking behind Copland 2010 I donât believe itâs quite the issue Siracusa believes it is. Objective-C continues to evolve, and in directions I believe will be increasingly important in the future. I donât believe weâre anywhere near the level of crisis that Apple hit with Classic Mac OS and I donât believe that a total second-system re-write without a clear goal is the best prescription for the platform.

**** LEGO Indiana Jones 2 <http://www.insidemacgames.com/reviews/view.php?ID=1132>
Franklin Pride, Inside Mac Games
LEGO Indy 2 just seems like a stronger showing overall than the previous games in the series. The puzzles are stronger, the world is more interesting, the fourth movie makes a great addition to the LEGO versions of the trilogy, and the collectibles keep you coming back for more. Whether that's good enough to get you to play a LEGO game for the first time or not, it's definitely a great addition to your collection if you're even a minor fan of the series.

**** The Best Street Photographer You've Never Heard Of <http://motherjones.com/media/2011/04/vivian-maier-john-maloof>
Alex Kotlowitz, Mother Jones
It's impossible to take measure of Vivian Maier's photos without taking stock of her story. She was by all accounts remarkably private, someone who didn't always enjoy the company of other adults. And yet her photographs feel like a celebration of peopleâa celebration of what Studs Terkel, the late grand oral historian, liked to call "the etceteras" of the world.
**** Can You See Me Now? <http://www.thesmartset.com/article/article05231101.aspx>
Stefany Anne Golberg, The Smart Set
Yet for most Deaf Americans, Helen Keller's struggle wasnât about overcoming a disability; she simply needed to learn the language of being Deaf. You see, for most Deaf Americans, being Deaf is not a handicap at all. It is not the inability to hear but rather, the ability to perceive life in a different way from hearing people. For many, itâs a blessing.
**** And I Should Know <http://nymag.com/arts/tv/upfronts/2011/roseanne-barr-2011-5/>
Roseanne Barr, New York Magazine
During the recent and overly publicized breakdown of Charlie Sheen, I was repeatedly contacted by the media and asked to comment, as it was assumed that I know a thing or two about starring on a sitcom, fighting with producers, nasty divorces, public meltdowns, and bombing through a live comedytour. I have, however, never smoked crack or taken too many drugs, unless you count alcohol as a drug (I donât). But I do know what itâs like to be seized by bipolar thoughts that make one spout wise about Tiger Blood and brag about winning when one is actually losing.

There is something deeply democratic about its interest in the little words, conjunctions and prepositions, and how they change the way we construe the world: âbut the thing I particularly like about the word âbutâ, now that I think about it, is that it always takes you off to the side, and where it takes you is always interestingâ.

Because the fundamentals are not being re-looked the peg is still to the private sector and will not be to the public sector anywhere else in the world. Hence, the "substantial discount" Gerard Ee spoke about becomes very, very subjective.

Mr Rykel Lim, Mrs Chiamâs election agent, was also summoned to the police station, even though he is not involved with the petition. âThe police wanted me to tell the people that it is ok to have the petition but to just have it indoors,â Mr Lim says. âWhen I asked him why should I do the job of the police, he said that if he (the police officer) was to move in, he would have to make arrests. And that if he made arrests, he would have to press charges. He told me that if he were to press charges, the first person he would gun for would be me.â
Mr Rykel said that the situation was resolved before he could take further action.

**** How To Pay Ministers? Just Ask Them! <http://blogging4myself.blogspot.com/2011/05/how-to-pay-ministers-just-ask-them.html>

here is an easy solution actually, and a surprising simple one. Ask each minister to name his pay! A wise potential minister would have grasped the concept of 'enough' as per Charles Handy definition alluded to by Denise Phua. If he or she doesn't even possess such wisdom, I don't think he ought to make ministerial rank and responsibility. Now if he ask for the sky, we know that is politically untenable and he is better off staying in his current jobs.
